Postail drafts email replies, summarizes long threads, adjusts tone, and catches bid deadlines right from your Outlook inbox. I built it because I work in construction and kept finding bid deadlines buried ten emails deep. Below are fixes for the issues people actually hit. Close the Postail pane, close and reopen the message, then reopen the pane. If it persists, remove the add-in (My add-ins → Custom Addins → remove Postail) and re-add it using the manifest file provided in your setup guide — installed add-ins don't automatically pick up updates to their name or icon, and occasionally need a fresh install.
Make sure a message is open (not just selected in the list) before generating a draft. If the button is unresponsive, Postail will fall back to copying the draft to your clipboard — paste it into a manually opened reply window instead.
Your license has a daily usage cap to keep costs sane. It resets at midnight UTC. If the cap is getting in the way of real work, email me and I'll raise it.
There's also a short-term burst cap, separate from the daily one, so a stuck loop can't quietly run up cost. Wait about a minute and carry on. If you see this during ordinary use, tell me — it means the cap is set wrong.
Microsoft sign-ins expire, usually after a password change or a long quiet spell. Open Settings in the Postail pane and click Reconnect mailbox. Nothing else is lost, and reminders resume on the next scheduled check.
A license can only connect the mailbox it was issued to — that's deliberate, so a license key can never be used to attach someone else's mailbox. If the address on your license is genuinely wrong, email me and I'll correct it.
The mailbox connection requires a license key. Open Settings, paste the key from your setup email, click Save key, and the Connect button appears.
Reply insertion doesn't work on Outlook for iOS or Android yet. For now, use Postail on Outlook desktop or Outlook on the web.
Postail is installed via Outlook's "Add from File" custom add-in flow using a manifest file we provide. If you were sent a setup guide, follow it step by step — the entry point for custom add-ins is reached from an open message's ribbon, not the mailbox toolbar.
